I can't believe that it's already been nearly a week since the relaunch of this site. I expected that there would be some murmurings of mutiny since so much of the site had changed, but most of the responses have been positive so far. Just under seventy members have joined already—I hope that if you haven't registered yet you are still considering it. I believe that we can make a big difference in our surf community if we can all come together.

I've never done an April Fool's joke, so I couldn't resist the opportunity.
Forgive me...
I'm proud to announce the launch of a new OMaui.com, a site dedicated to surfers of all walks of life living on and visiting Maui.
The site was born in the autumn of 2001 and has slowly grown in popularity over the years. It has gone through several changes in it's past, but none have been as major as this new version. Although far from complete, a framework has been set up to allow the site to expand to meet the needs of its visitors.
I am most excited about the possibility for visitors to register for a free membership. Members may post articles, classified ads to sell their surfboards, participate in the forum discussions, use a simple private messaging system, and many more features. But most imporantly, I hope that we can all see through our differences and form a new `ohana of waveriders, whether you are a surfer, a bodyboarder, kitesurfer, windsurfer or whatever.
So without further ado, please poke around the new site to see what it has to offer, then sign up for the free membership and enjoy!
I truly hope you enjoy the site!
Aloha pumehana,
Erik
